VOCAL IMAGINARIES AT VEGA LAB

We’re excited to announce the opening of the exhibition Vocal Imaginaries atΒ  VEGA LAB on Thursday 14th November from 17-20. VEGA LAB is the experimental art gallery space of iconic Copenhagen music venue VEGA.

The exhibition showcases art installations, research and prototypes created in the Independent Research Fund supported project Voice as a Matter of Design: A Framework for Novel Vocal Imaginaries. In the project, we have explored how we can design for greater vocal diversity in synthetic voice design, and what this means for our relation to voice-based technologies such as smart and voice assistants.

There will be vocal performances by SØSTR and Vectral, demos of the MOdular Smart Speakers and Climate Change Smart Speakers, voice cloning experiments, an emerging framework for Voice-User Interface design, and speculated exploratory vocal scenarios for our future lives with synthetic voices and much more.

Special shout-outs to the entire past and present VOCAL Team – Jonas Fritsch, Stina Hasse JΓΈrgensen, Ada Ada Ada, SΓΈren LyngsΓΈ Knudsen, Claire Glanois, Kara Oehler and Pelin Karaturhan.
